Moderator: Álvaro Colomer

Joan Didion wrote as an act of discovery. For Graham Greene, it was a form of therapy, and for García Márquez, it was a way of seeking transcendence. Writing can have many different motives: it may arise from the need to unburden oneself, to understand oneself, to be entertained, to reorder the world or to share an experience. In this discussion, Carlota Gurt, Pablo Martín Sánchez and Bel Olid will share their reasons and impulses: what drives them to write, how they begin a work, how much of themselves is reflected in it and how this urge, passion or need for writing first took shape.
