Barcelona Innova, an urban-innovation service
Urban innovation
Sustainability
Barcelona sees the city as an urban and social innovation space. Barcelona Innova, deployed by the BIT Habitat Foundation, is a strategy for promoting the city’s urban innovation.
As an urban-innovation centre, Ca l’Alier runs programmes and services to promote and facilitate innovation in Barcelona with the aim of tackling global challenges.
The goal is to meet the needs and demands of the city and its residents in an open and collaborative way. It identifies and tackles city challenges through open competitions, offers funding and grants for implementing innovation projects, promotes outreach efforts and tests out proposals for possible application in a real context.
