Last update:
This call is aimed at premises for public use or cultural dissemination that have or are in the process of obtaining a permit authorising them to host live music performances, or at establishments that intend to carry out a noise-impact study for the purposes of cooperating with the improvement or modernisation of Barcelona’s private cultural creation, production, dissemination and commerce establishments, or their adaptation to the city's current regulations.
Establishments that are adapting or intend to adapt their facilities for live-music performances may apply for a subsidy under the following categories:
- Category A: Small venues, with a capacity under 150 people, premises for cultural dissemination and the like (live-music venues, bars, cafeterias, restaurants and others), that wish to adapt their premises for amplified live-music performances.
- Category B: Medium-sized and large venues, including concert halls, banquet halls, music bars, discotheques and the like, with a capacity for over 150 people that wish to host amplified live music.
Legally constituted legal persons, the managers of the venues benefiting from the subsidies, may apply for these subsidies, which have the corresponding authorisation (activity licence or opening notice), where applicable, may apply for these subsidies. Each applicant may present only one subsidy application for each venue that they own or manage. The establishment must be located in the City of Barcelona and must have either made its investments in 2023, or must do so in 2024, with work being finished before 30 September 2024.
Circumstances excluded from this subsidy campaign: In regard to construction work and measures to comply with regulations and other improvement work, applications from legally constituted legal persons that manage municipally-owned venues, publicly-owned cultural institutions and cultural facilities run by public consortia shall be excluded from this subsidy campaign.
In accordance with Article 14 of Act 39/2015, of 1 October, on common administrative procedure of public administrations, the application must be completed and submitted via the Virtual Procedures Office at Barcelona City Council’s e-headquarters.
The application period is from 27 June to 3 pm on 18 July 2023
