Barcelona City Council

On 18 June 2020, the Government Commission approved a grant call for the development of projects within the framework of the climate emergency in the city of Barcelona. The aim of the grants is to provide financial resources and support to projects promoted by citizen organisations leading to actions that supplement the existing strategies against climate change. The projects must take concrete action to help address the climate emergency in an effective manner. In other words, they must have a significant impact both on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and in taking steps to adapt to those effects that have already taken place, always with the most vulnerable people at the heart of such actions.

The projects must propose innovative solutions to the city's socio-environmental problems that make it possible to improve existing practices and models, while also increasing society’s capacity for action through the creation of new collaborative relationships. In other words, they must be relevant in terms of social innovation.

The application period is from 26 June to 27 July (inclusive).
