Call for the Barcelona City Council grant programme for 2020 for the promotion and strengthening of the social and solidarity economy (ESS) Grants awarded to carry out activities and projects to promote and strengthen the social and solidarity economy in the city of Barcelona. The activities and projects that will be awarded grants must promote activities of public or social interest, designed to help meet the objectives of the Social and Solidarity Economy Promotion Plan 2016-2019 (extended until the approval of the new period 2020-2023, the contribution to the implementation of the BCN 2030 ESS Strategy). They must promote and strengthen the lines of work laid out in the plan, including the development of common elements that define the transformational nature of the social and solidarity economy such as democratic and participative management, orientation towards human needs and commitment to the community.

As from 1 June, in accordance with Spanish Royal Decree 537/2020, of 22 May, the suspension of deadlines and the interruption of periods established under the 3rd Additional Provision of Spanish Royal Decree 463/2020, of 14 March are hereby lifted, and the administrative periods hitherto suspended are now resumed. The new period for submitting applications in response to the call, initially provided for from 17 March to 17 April, is hereby established from 2 June and 2 July, first and last days included.
