LUMBUNG PRESS AT HANGAR
Lumbung Press: from Documenta to Barcelona.
The Lumbung Press was presented at Hangar this Sunday, 12 March. The collaborative printing project involved in the latest edition of documenta is in Barcelona as a Hangar residence project under a collaboration agreement between Hangar, MACBA and the Barcelona Institute of Culture-Creation Factories. Tim Rudolph, Fred Hansen and Erick Beltrán will be taking part in the gathering as members of Lumbung Press, printing out posters live. In addition, there will also be a talk with ruangrupa and Madeyoulook, screenings from Subversive Film and Sebastián Díaz Morales, and diverse documenta 15 video documents.
Lumbung Press is a practical printing collective based on the Indonesian tradition of lumbung – depositing common resources so they can be redistributed for the long-term benefit of a community’s members – the guiding concept of documenta 15, probably the most important contemporary art event held every five years in Kassel, Germany. Developed and managed collectively by lumbung artists, the project operated in the documenta Halle space during the hundred days of the exhibition’s last edition, which was held from June to September de 2022.
