Project CircusNextplus

19 November, 2018 - 00:01 to 19 December, 2018 - 23:59

CircusNextplus is a new European project coordinated by Jeunes Talents Cirque Europe and managed by La Grainerie (France), La Central del Circ (Catalonia), Cirqueon (Czech Republic), Latitude 50 (Belgium) and Subtopia (Sweden).

The platform is channelling a new programme that aims to give support to emerging creatives in the field of contemporary circus in all aspects of the creative journey, both as artistic directors and project leaders.

Arts Discipline

Contemporary Circus

Programme Features

The project’s aim is to give support to emerging creators of contemporary circus in all aspects of their creative process as artistic directors and project leaders.

5 companies will be selected – one for each country involved – who will take part over two years in a European programme for developing their skills as creatives and project leaders.

Each selected company will take part in:

  • 3 collective labs with the creators from the other companies in France and Sweden. These labs share the aim of exploring each of the arts projects and their processes of creation. Support and advice will also be on offer from the host members and participating mentors.
  • 2 artistic team workshops for each company which will take place abroad and reunite on each ocasion all the members of their teams (arts creatives, artists, technicians, light/sound designers, producers, external gaze...). The mission of the workshops is to pursue research and experimentaton in the creative project itself and link the project of creation with other necessary aspects beyond purely artistic ones.

The project will cover all lab and residency costs (travel, accommodation and food) of the selected companies.
