Definition
The Spain-Japan Council Foundation is a private non-profit making entity, created in 2001. It is linked to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. It has a Board of Trustees that gathers together various entities and institutions such as banks, companies, universities and city councils.
Goals
- To strengthen and improve the image of the Spanish state in Japan
- To act as permanent secretary in the Spain-Japan forums

The City Council of Barcelona is member entity of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation.
