Speak and be heard, write and be well read, discover and create, learn and think in a free and critical way. Barcelona’s libraries want Barcelona to be a reading city, that's why we’re promoting a series of initiatives to ensure that everyone in the city enjoys the right to be a reader.

Biblioteques de Barcelona offers a wide range of reading clubs. These are spaces where you can meet up with other people who are interested in reading together and sharing comments on various different books, led by an expert.

This right is enforced not only by supporting the promotion of reading in libraries, but also by giving impetus to specific projects that promote reading in the city's schools and unconventional settings such as homes, hospitals and prisons.
