Quien baila su mal espanta, by Joaquín Collado
Genre: Dance
This duet explores the relationship created in a dance between two men, traversing the imagery of partner dances, from folk dances to ballroom dances. The piece reflects on what dance produces when we dance with another. The dancers embrace, look at each other, turn, and dance, merging elements of ballroom dancing with movements that express affections, relationships, and emotions, aiming to scare away evils.
Time: 05/10/24. 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM

Invocation, by Carmen Muñoz
Genre: Dance
Carmen Muñoz presents Invocation, a piece that explores the connection between flamenco and three key figures of postmodern dance: Steve Paxton, Yvonne Rainer, and Trisha Brown. This work proposes a physical and mystical invocation of these references, culminating in a contemporary, intuitive, and spontaneous body. The movement blurs the boundaries between postmodern dance and flamenco, offering a poetic and sonic landscape that connects past and present in a mysterious ritual.
Time: 05/10/24. 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

NEW EXHIBITION
Arcs del Quarter
Genre: Artistic Installation
Penique Productions, with curation by MIRA, presents Arcs del Quarter, an inflatable installation in the Barracks space of Montjuïc Castle. This interactive work transforms the architectural morphology of the space into an aesthetic experience that invites the viewer to traverse it. The architecture guides the path, evoking notions of journey, time, and life. The light and color of the installation speak of freedom, while the architecture and darkness suggest confinement. The public is invited to participate actively by writing or drawing on the inflatable walls, thus creating a dialogue between the permanent and the ephemeral.

EXHIBITIONS ALREADY INAUGURATED
Gaudí as a Pretext
Genre: Multidisciplinary Exhibition
The Fashion Art Institute by Manuel Fernández presents a collection that fuses fashion, art, and architecture, inspired by the genius of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. This exhibition, both in-person and digital, seeks to pay tribute to his unique and visionary style through 19 dress-canvas pieces created by Fernández and decorated by young visual artists from all over Spain. Each dress is inspired by the organic shapes and characteristic double-curve columns of Gaudí, reflecting his deep spirituality and originality. Furthermore, the exhibition stands out for its use of sustainable fabrics and the creation in inclusive workshops, an effort to promote cultural diversity and social inclusion.

Echoes of Memory. Photobooks of the Present
Genre: Exhibition
Montjuïc Castle hosts the exhibition Echoes of Memory. Photobooks of the Present, a collection of 40 photobooks that explores the real and imagined traces of the Civil War. Created from the publications of the Archive of Photographic Memory of the Civil War, born at Jaume I University in 2022, this is the first archive that compiles, analyzes, and makes visible contemporary photographic practices that recover the memory of the war and its victims. Curated by Marta Martín Núñez, the exhibition offers a look at a traumatic past that resonates as an echo in younger generations, reconstructing memory from silence and absence.
