The Castle of Montjuïc explores the boundaries between freedom and confinement with the immersive installation by Penique Productions, curated by MIRA.
Penique Productions, with the curatorship of MIRA, proposes an aesthetic experience shaped by the morphology of the architecture of the Barracks at el Castell de Montjuïc. The directionality of this architecture defines a path that conveys the idea of a journey, a process, leading the viewer to walk through it. A journey that speaks to us of time, and a time that speaks to us of life. It is within these parameters that ideas emerge in the image, reflecting inwardly and projecting outwardly.
It is within these same parameters where the light and color of the inflatable installation occupying this space can speak to us of freedom, while the architecture and darkness evoke confinement. It is within these parameters that the public is invited to enter and experience it, to write and draw on the walls of the inflatable, both at the beginning and at the end. As identity? As presence? As provocation? As memory? As a record, mark, trace, or vestige? Between permanence and the ephemeral.
The exhibition can be visited until January 6th with the ticket to the Castle.
