Adrià Targa (Tarragona, 1987) has a degree in Classical Philology from the University of Barcelona. He has published the poetry books "L'exili de Constança" (2008), "Boques en Calma" (2010, Gabriel Ferrater Prize in Sant Cugat), "Icar" (2015) and "Canviar de cel" (2021, Vicent Prize Andrés Estellés). He has also published some literature articles in digital magazines such as La Lectora and has translated poetry: the most recent, the brief Latin poem Alcestis of Barcelona for the Bernat Metge Foundation.
The Castle of Montjuïc, tells us Adrià, "plays a key role in the work I have been writing, it is one of the main locations of the poem". The author tells us that this is a long narrative poem, or a narrative in verse, which has been developing for more than four years. "The opportunity for the scholarship and the office to the castle have been very inspirational, and it has been magical to be able to complete the poem on situ, in the same place where my characters move." Of all the corners of the castle, Adrià chooses the wall with the cannons that dominates the port of Barcelona, which is where we have taken the photo.
