Before you are four of the most important and renowned contemporary Catalan playwrights from Barcelona. Sergi Belbel, Marta Buchaca, Josep Maria Miró and Victoria Szpunberg will discuss their work, inspirations, themes and interests. They’ll talk about what the theatre means to them. Barcelona has a very rich theatrical tradition, deeply rooted in its popular culture. We will ask them to discuss the current scene, contemporary Barcelona playwriting, what it draws from and who it speaks to. We will go behind the scenes to gain an in-depth understanding of the theatre being written in the Catalan capital.
