You can’t talk about Barcelona and literature without talking about Roberto Bolaño. This Chilean author, in addition to being an honorary son of Barcelona, is part of the city’s physical, emotional and literary landscape. Much of his oeuvre is shaped by his life in the city, from the bars and shops he frequented and the Raval streets where he lived to the cinemas, the Anagrama publishing house that made him famous in Spain and his comrade-in-arms. Bolaño left a mark on this city, which pays wholehearted tribute to him whenever it has the opportunity. He also left a mark on the writers who have read him. Chilean author Paulina Flores first discovered Barcelona through Bolaño’s books, and Barcelona author Eduard Olesti takes a literary tour of the city with “Bolañesque” ambition. They will be discussing the man, his works and his legacy on both sides of the Atlantic.
