Writing about love (and heartbreak)

Barcelona poet Joan Vinyoli wrote: ‘I will never say, I will never say love, because love cannot be spoken’ [Nunca diré, nunca diré el amor, porque el amor no puede ser dicho]. Perhaps precisely in trying to express love, in attempting to capture it in literature, writers Xavier Bosch, Marta Buchaca and David Moragas revisit it in their books, almost as a driving force. But how can love (and heartbreak), one of the most universal and recurring themes, be expressed? If it is so essential in our lives, is it inevitable in literature?
