La Central del Circ has this year taken on the organisation of Caixa d'Eines, limited to the Besòs/Maresme and La Verneda/La Pau districts of Barcelona. This involves a community project within the framework of the municipal initiative: Pla de Barris which aims to make use of dramatic arts as a socio-educational tool for developing children and youngsters. "Descobrim el circ" (“Let’s discover the circus”) is a ludic-educational project using physical and artistic activities that offer children and young people from primary and secondary schools in the area a chance to discover circus techniques through play.

The workshops are led by circus tutors who, over a series of sessions, will explore techniques such as juggling with rings, balls, scarves, Chinese plates and clubs; balancing on wire, unicycle and rola bola; and aerial techniques with trapeze and silks. Beyond the technical aspect, the workshop aims to also stimulate the emotional and affective aspects of children and teenagers through working with, among other factors, values such as co-operation, communication, teamwork and creativity, which all provide the basis on which social circus is sustained.
