Improvement and remodelling of Barcelona Nord Bus Station

Barcelona City Council has green-lighted the project for the renovation and improvement of the station’s spaces and services, with the goal of continuing to ensure the best experience for travellers and transport companies.

Barcelona de Serveis Municipals (BSM) is responsible for carrying out the improvement, renovation and adaptation project for the Barcelona Nord bus station. The station revamp has a budget of 10 million euros, of which 4.8 million euros come from Next Generation EU funds under the Tourism sustainability plan for destination Barcelona (PSTDB). The works are expected to be completed by 2026. During the construction works, the station will remain fully operational. The two main changes in the transformation of the station are the consolidation of all services on the ground floor and the creation of a single access for passengers located on Carrer de Nàpols. This will optimise passenger flow and improve accessibility and connectivity with the Arc de Triomf metro and local network train station. New waiting and dining areas will also be created, offering a varied gastronomic selection. A photovoltaic installation will be set up on the station’s roof to cover part of its energy consumption, contributing to a more sustainable city and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
