Strategic tourism management
Barcelona City Council has focused on the comprehensive management and regulation of tourism as a top priority for years, recognising its key role in ensuring a balanced and sustainable city and the compatibility of tourism within it.
Its aim is to lay down a set of rules through the management of tourism to strike a balance in the city by promoting certain practices and restricting others.
The 2024-2027 Government Measure for Tourism Management sets out the main challenges arising from tourism management in Barcelona and establishes the strategic lines for the coming years.
