Barcelona City Council’s Ethics Committee is a collegiate body created in the framework of Barcelona City Council’s Code of Ethics and Conduct, with the purpose of promoting it, by monitoring and assessing compliance with it.

Composition of the Committee

The Committee is made up of a maximum of five individuals, all external to the organisation and chosen (through a public hearing session) from among professionals of renowned prestige in the field of defence of public ethics, integrity and transparency. Its members carry out their duties with full autonomy, independence, objectivity and impartiality. They cannot receive instructions from any municipal body, authority or post.

Salaries and allowances

Membership of the Ethics Committee is an unremunerated post. Members are entitled to receive allowances for their effective attendance of sessions.
