The Nature Classroom, which presents a didactic approach, contributes to the knowledge of the ecological value of a popular leisure destination where citizens usually go for a walk, practice sport or enjoy sporting or cultural events. The exhibition shows the visitor the impact that these human activities and the massive influx of people generate in this environment and that can compromise the living conditions and tranquility that many species need. Likewise, the exhibition wants to make visitors aware of the need to respect the natural environment and conserve natural environments such as the Montjuïc mountain.
The exhibition is structured in three parts that cover three natural habitats of Montjuïc and the animal species that can be found: the green areas, made up of forests, parks and gardens; the buildings and cliffs, and the water areas, which consist of fountains and rafts. In addition, the set has a central space that provides data and information to arouse the visitor's curiosity.
The knowledge of the habitats of Montjuïc also includes sketches of the evolution that this space has experienced over the years, from its agricultural transformation, the arrangement of the mountain for the International Exhibition of 1929 and the Olympics of 1992, the works of the port of Barcelona or the construction of amusement parks, and others.
