Maria Arnal

Maria Arnal, born in Barcelona in 1987, is one of the most innovative voices in contemporary music because of her ability to merge genres such as avant-pop, electronica and traditional music in a unique way, exploring the boundaries between art, technology and sound.

She has taken her music to some of the most prestigious stages in the world, including the Sónar Festival, the Venice Dance Biennale and Vancouver TED Talks and also composed the original soundtrack for Polvo serán, winner at the Toronto Film Festival, and the original song for the film La virgen roja, which was nominated for the Goya awards.

Arnal has spearheaded innovative projects that merge music and technology, such as SIRENA, a generative choral work based on Barcelona macrodata; AIR, a sound piece for the Venice Architecture Biennale; and Maria CHOIR, an interactive installation with synthetic reproductions of her voice.

She is currently exploring the possibilities of artificial intelligence applied to music as part of her research in collaboration with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center.

She will present new projects in 2025, including her first solo album and an international tour.
