According to the World Economic Forum, around 1.6 billion people lack adequate housing, a figure that could rise to 3 billion by 2030. Added to this is the fact that, currently, 100 million people are homeless and 1 in 4 live in conditions that affect their well-being, as reported by UN-Habitat. Most experts agree that the answer to this crisis will not be found solely in the real estate market, but that government intervention is needed to address it, given that in the future it could trigger a major humanitarian problem. What policies should be adopted to address the housing crisis?
