Let’s stamp out sexism, let’s not let it grow

The campaign for the 2021 International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women campaign bore the slogan “Let’s stamp out sexism, let’s not let it grow”. Adopting this forceful slogan, the campaign emphasised the need for people to work together to eliminate gender violence, calling on men in particular and for the need to construct fairer, more plural and violence-free models of masculinity and relational models.

Building a city free of gender violence requires everyone’s involvement to raise awareness of it, fight it and condemn it in every way, from public spaces to family, friend, educational and work environments. Every discriminatory or violent gesture, attitude or comment towards a woman helps sexism to spread further.

Our words, actions and condemnations can prevent it from growing and normalising. By acting together, we can all stamp out sexism together.
