"No callem" protocol
The ‘We Won’t Keep Quiet’ protocol was established by Barcelona City Council in 2018 to tackle gender violence, specifically sexual and LGBTI-phobic violence in nightlife venues.
By signing on to a collaboration agreement, nightlife venues commit to applying the ‘We Won’t Keep Quiet’ protocol, which provides trained staff who a know how to act in cases of sexual harassment or assault.
The project includes a series of resources and tools to address and prevent cases of sexual harassment and violence, including training spaces, consulting for venues and festivals on how to prevent these situations, communication materials and support in addressing cases at the venues that have joined the programme.
The project encourages nightlife venues and festivals to take responsibility and commit to providing leisure experiences that are respectful of everyone and free of gender violence.
