Retail associations representing the sector are working closely with Barcelona City Council to promote city and local commerce through a series of initiatives for the Christmas period. The aim is to generate the right atmosphere and conditions for stimulating demand during one of the most important periods of economic activity in the year.

Building on this collaboration, the City Council has now published a call for subsidy applications for Christmas street lights in the city for 2021.

The application-submission period will run from 7 July to 15 September 2021, first and last dates included. No application submitted outside this period will be considered. Subsidy applications can be made online, using Barcelona City Council's Procedures Portal.
