At the moment we are documenting the stamps from the former Yugoslavia. To this day we have documented the 36% of Ramon Marull’s philatelic collection. Information about the progress made in the work will be periodically given.
The stamps from the collection are fixed to album sheets organized by continents, countries and years. There is a total of 2.772 sheets. They can be consulted through the online collection. There are copies published in Albany, Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy or Russia, among others.
The First World War, or Great War (1914-1918), was a key element for the geographical restructuring of Europe because of its high level of belligerency. The four great empires, the Austral-Hungarian, the German, the Bulgarian and the Turkish, were disintegrated and made space for new regions and new states: Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Finland and Poland. Since then, the European map has been in constant change because of internal wars or conflicts with other countries, as, for example, in the Balkan region.
Throughout Marull’s collection it could be discovered, little by little, the history of countries which have suffered periods of occupation, independence, etc. You are invited to enjoy history from a new and cheering point of view: Philately.
