Germany, 1869
Stamp issued to commemorate the international scientific expedition to the region of north-west China, headed by the Swede Sven Anders Hedin. The stamp was issued during the period of the Republic of China, established as a consequence of the 1911 revolt against the Chinese imperial monarchy.
