Turkey, 1938
Stamp issued to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the introduction of the Latin alphabet, issued during the period of the Republic of Turkey, proclaimed following the fall of the Ottoman Turkish Empire and the signing of the Treaty of Lausanne (1923). Among the reforms applied by Ataturk, the Arabic alphabet was replaced by its Latin counterpart for writing in Turkish.
