Ramon Marull Philately Collection will be taking part in the PAE

This year, once again, the Ramon Marull Philately Collection will be taking part in the PAE – the Programa d'Activitats Escolars (Schools Activity Program)

This year, once again, the Ramon Marull Philately Collection will be taking part in the PAE – the Programa d’Activitats Escolars (Schools Activity Program), which is organised every year by the educational body the Consorci d’Educació to showcase the teaching resources available to teachers and schools.

The PAE is described as “the city’s didactic implementation plan, devised to expand the limits of the school space and turn the city into a big classroom (…) by offering more than 4,500 different activities, covering all the stages of education.”

This year it was held on 29th June at CosmoCaixa. The program kicked off in the meeting hall with the lecture: “Intelligent school and city. Education in values and Smart City”. The lecture was given by Maria Macià (a secondary school teacher and teacher trainer at TAC), Miquel Àngel Prats (lecturer in Educational Technology at FPCEE Blanquerna) and Joan Queraltó (supervisor for Edu21).

After the lecture, teachers had the opportunity to ask questions and make comments to the heads of the different educational activities about the ideas proposed by organisations such as museums, scientific centres, libraries, markets, etc. There were also live demonstrations of activities and a general festive atmosphere revolving around the exchange of educational resources for the coming academic year 2015-2016.

The Marull Collection has been involved in this programme for three years now, and each year we have attempted to improve the educational ideas we offer, to ensure that the online collection becomes actively used for teaching purposes. Apart from presenting a heritage collection that is extremely valuable and available to all, our aim is to promote philately and the collection’s contents in its more pedagogical areas, in schools, educational centres and among Internet users in general.

This year we have introduced several important new features, starting with the new website, which is much more user-friendly, in that it is easier to find the information you want, and is generally more accessible. The main aim of the website is to showcase the collection’s importance as an item of heritage, as well as all the information provided by the stamps within it.

Continuing with the new features, this year you can examine all the stamps in the Marull Collection, discover new opinions in the section Personal Stamps, and read new articles and news updates on the world of philately that will surprise you.

Last but not least, there is the Agenda section, where you will find all the activities concerning the world of philately, both at home and abroad, and the E-Bulletin that will be launched in early July. By simply subscribing to it you can stay up to date with everything that’s new on the website, and everything related to it.

Here is a selection of photos of the day’s events!
