The Municipal Institute of Markets of Barcelona (IMMB) is an autonomous body of Barcelona City Council that is responsible for the management and administration of the city's municipal markets. The IMMB works to highlight the role of markets as leaders in the distribution of fresh and local products and as benchmarks for health and sustainability.
The action of the IMMB focuses on three areas: the improvement of infrastructures and services, the updating of the commercial offer and the incorporation of commercial promotion policies. All this without forgetting a management that calls for a new market model for the 21st century, the adaptation of markets to their environment and the recovery of the civic role of market cohesion.
