The Barcelona Market Digitalisation Plan is taking shape through a series of projects in response to the goals and values 2015-2025 Strategic Plan: online shopping, Mercats TV and controlling customer numbers.
The goals of the ‘Comerç verd’ programme are to prioritise organic local produce at markets, position establishments according to the quality of their produce, reduce the carbon footprint, fight the climate emergency and boost local sustainable agriculture and livestock farming.
Barcelona receives the 2021 National Prize for Internal Trade for promoting the city commerce
It is an award that the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism grants to Barcelona in recognition of its work in the recovery and promotion of the city’s commerce. It has also awarded the actions of the Strategic Market Plan 2015-2025, which aims to promote the development of new technologies.
