Born in 1966 next to what was then known as the "neighbourhood of the Indians", between the streets of Felip II, Olesa, Juan de Garay and Garcilaso. Like other markets of the time, the Felip II market arose from the need to supply the new neighbourhoods that emerged as a result of the migratory wave of the 1960s.
The Felip II market was built at a time of great increase in the number of municipal markets in the city, between 1957 and 1974, especially in the city’s outskirts, which experienced a great expansion as a result of the migratory wave.
