Training

Formació OAR a l'aula

Training is a key tool that enables the Religious Affairs Office (OAR) to explain the right to religious freedom, as well as highlight and normalise the presence of the various options of conscience, whether or not religious, in the city.

The OAR’s training offers are divided into three branches, depending on the target public.

  • Training sessions intended for religious communities: These are aimed at providing organisations with the tools and resources for guaranteeing their exercise of religious freedom, empowerment and access to tools for their everyday activity in the city. Provided in collaboration with the Torre Jussana association service, they deal with diverse issues, ranging from internal management or administrative procedures to presentations of various City Council services that may be of interest to the organisations.
  • Internal training sessions at City Hall: For council staff and other people serving the local authority. These are often “tailor made”, enabling staff to become familiar with Barcelona’s religious plurality and trainers to present aspects that need to be taken into account in every specific area of council work.
  •  Training sessions intended for city residents: The OAR also offers opportunities for general or “tailor-made” training sessions in various professional and social spheres of the city, such as non-profit organisations, educational bodies and other citizen entities. The aim behind these training sessions is for participants to become familiar with the office's work, the city's religious plurality and a few tools for managing that plurality. The OAR also provides training for organisations that need to respond to specific demands on safeguarding rights and managing rights and managing diversity.

Training is a key tool that allows the OAR to publicize the right to religious freedom and make visible and normalize the presence of the various options of conscience, religious or not, in the city.
