This twinning agreement was one of the first signed by the city of Barcelona. Within the framework of this twinning agreement, the Barcelona square was inaugurated, one of the most important and central squares in the city. This square is the confluence or the main urban roads and collective transport, there is a central railway station and two light metro lines. Subsequently, in 1986, the reforms made to the square, once again with the collaboration of the City Council of Barcelona, were inaugurated.
In recent years, Metropolitan Transports of Barcelona (TMB) has assessed the public transport system of Tunis with the System of Aid for the Exploitation (SAE), and by means of a study of the physical and fare integration of the public transport system.
