Austria, 1919 - 1920
A pair of stamps from the Southern African union from 1926 overprinted to be put into circulation for official service mail in South-West Africa. In 1915, during the First World War, the Union of South Africa, which was a part of the British Empire, occupied German South-West Africa, the old colony established in what is now Namibia. In 1920, after the war was over, Great Britain gained control of this territory, which was renamed South-West Africa.
