A collaborative project between the Oriol Martorell Artistic School Institute and the Museu de la Música de Barcelona.

The Museu de la Música initiates a shared project with the IEA Oriol Martorell, a school that studies, in an integrated way, compulsory and post compulsory studies with art, such as music and dance.

During four weekends, in sessions of morning or afternoon, the Museu will host ten students of 4th of ESO and 1st of Bachillerato who have wanted to participate voluntarily, to live a new artistic-formative experience with the visitors of the Museu. They will have the possibility to play their instruments in three camera formations distributed through the most emblematic spaces of the Museu, such as guitars or keyboards, so that with their interpretation they communicate with the audience, explaining also the history and peculiarities of the instruments heritage of the collection. On the part of the Museu, they will receive, as support, a small formation and a tutored follow-up, all with the complicity of the teaching staff of the educational centre.

With this project, the will to consolidate the relationship between the Museu and the educational centres begins, beyond offering activities and resources that accompany and complement the educating task, which until now was mainly directed to the teaching staff. The objective is to give prominence to the students, making available the space of the Museu collections and the knowledge and experience that they can obtain from it. In addition, it favours the development of techniques for public speaking and communication skills of these students, putting value on the relationship between musicians and visitors to the Museu. It is therefore a unique opportunity to communicate with the audience, explaining everything related to their instruments, the repertoire and the relationship with the heritage that surrounds them.

The performances will take place on weekends from January 14th to February 17th.
