Exhibition The Sound of Light. Mompou / Gaudí

12.12.2012 to 01.09.2013

Mompou (1893-1987) belonged to the generation of musicians of the opening decades of the 20th century and lived in the difficult years of the war and the post-war period. Gaudí (1852-1926) is the foremost representative of Catalan architectural Modernisme, which stretched from the late 19th to the early 20th centuries. Although they belong to different generations, Pla and Llimargas highlight, through an artistic proposal, the links that they discovered between the two great creators in both their conception of art and their sources of inspiration. The figure of Mompou forms the guiding thread of this exhibition, which is built around photographs, musical scores, graphisms and aphorisms, inviting us to take a suggestive look at Mompou's and Gaudí's aesthetic world.
