Cities such as Paris, London and Milan have signed an agreement pledging to implement measures which prioritise people, sustainable mobility and green space. The agreement was signed during the first Barcelona Superblock meeting, the goal being to tackle the climate emergency, reduce emissions and achieve healthier and greener urban spaces full of community life.
Participants include politicians and specialists from Paris, London, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Milan, Vienna, Rotterdam, Ljubljana, Ghent, Lodz, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Valencia and Zurich, who are sharing their urban transformation models in lectures and round tables.
The agreement also highlights the need to keep working collectively and proactively to drive future responses and solutions.
‘Viu la Superilla’ celebration
The meeting winds up tomorrow, 25 March, with two public celebrations in the green streets in L’Eixample: C/ Consell de Cent, between Enric Granados and Rambla Catlunya, and C/ Rocafort, between Aragó and Diputació.
The celebrations include activities for all the family, such as concerts, workshops, musical performances and entertainment, so everybody can take part.
