Roger Bartra, an intellectual history
02/12/2025 - 17:00h
Auditorium, Hotel Barceló
Roger Bartra, Pablo Raphael
Roger Bartra is one of Mexico's most internationally renowned intellectuals, with a personal history that links him to Barcelona and Catalonia. Anthropologist and sociologist, son of Agustí Bartra and Anna Murià, both exiled to Mexico as a result of the Civil War, his long intellectual career has led him to study everything from the different mythologies of Western modernity to advances in neuroscience and brain studies from a perspective that combines science with the humanities and anticipates the theses of posthumanism. His contributions are extensive in many fields where he is a clear reference point.
In this session, Pablo Raphael, a Mexican writer and political scientist living in Barcelona, interviews Roger Bartra in what is conceived as a review of his intellectual career and legacy.
