The new centre is intended as a meeting point for initiatives led by women, to contribute to equality and help reduce the gender divide in business and management, where a strong male bias still exists.
Located at the Almogàvers Incubator in the 22@ district, the Espai Lidera is intended to strengthen professional ties and give visibility to organisations working daily towards equality in the business sector. The centre brings together entrepreneurial projects headed by women, as well as initiatives by organisations from the business creation programme by the municipal economic agency Inicia.
The inauguration involved women from different associations and organisations such as Fidem, Women for Climate, WA4Steam, Dones en Xarxa, 50×50, Dones pel Futur, Observatori Lideratge a l’Empresa – UPF, Women 360 Congress and iPensa.
The centre offers twelve co-working spaces distributed into two rooms, along with another room for meetings and training. Organisations wishing to use the facility must present an application and details about their entity.
The centre takes its name from Barcelona Activa’s Lidera programme, which boosts the professional trajectory of women in the city and has so far provided training for four thousand women, through support for starting businesses, mentoring, management development programmes, skills improvement, digital strategy and financial support.
