Lletra i música
As part of the Lletra i Música (Words and Music) series being held at the Museu this spring, on Thursday, 19 April we didn’t have any guest novelists with us so that we could focus the session on recommendations for music-related novels, which was led by Josep Pujol, a musicologist, writer and professor at the ESMUC. We called it ‘A St George's Day in adagietto’ to avoid getting too caught up in publishing fads and to talk about some well-established musical fictions in a leisurely way.
A list of musical novels was also provided, divided into sections according to the main instrument or their subject matter. In fact, Josep Pujol confessed that it was originally the list he gave to the ESMUC students at the end of the academic year, to encourage them to read over the summer holiday, which is why it is divided according to their possible interests. There’s surely more than one you haven’t read yet, so we encourage you to make your way through the list.
Wishing you a happy and sunny St George’s Day!
