Barcelona City Council has activated its Action Protocol for air pollution due to high levels of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in the preventive warning phase, in accordance with the alert issued by the Government of Catalonia.

The Preventive Warning is the phase prior to a possible declaration of an atmospheric episode and forecasts moderate levels of the pollutant, without this necessarily meaning that an atmospheric episode will occur, and, therefore, the aim is to inform the population preventively.
