All the magic of the Christmas lights with the Barcelona Christmas Tour

Christmas. Barcelona City Council, TMB and Turisme de Barcelona are once again offering their Barcelona Christmas Tour.

Barcelona City Council, Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona and Turisme de Barcelona are once again offering their Barcelona Christmas Tour, a night-time double-decker bus tour which takes you around all the city’s best Christmas lights.

The Barcelona Christmas Tour is operating Monday to Sunday from 25 November to 30 December, taking visitors on a special route to see the city’s most iconic streets, avenues and buildings especially decorated and illuminated for the festivities, including Passeig de Gràcia, the Cathedral and Plaça Catalunya. This is a bus tour for enjoying the Christmas lights in comfort on the upper deck of a tourist bus while discovering Catalan Christmas traditions, with guides providing on-board explanations in English, Spanish and Catalan during the 90-minute trip.

Barcelona Christmas Tour buses will be setting off twice every evening, at 6 pm and 8 pm (except for 25 December), from the Barcelona Bus Turístic bus stop at Plaça de Catalunya (Llobregat side, in front of El Triangle). There will only be one tour on December 24th, at 6 pm. Places may now be reserved via the usual channels: www.holabarcelona.com and tickets.visitbarcelona.com

The route is Passeig de Gràcia (Casa Batlló, Pedrera), the streets of Rosselló, Cartagena, Sant Antoni Maria Claret (Hospital de Sant Pau), Sardenya (Sagrada Família), Gran Via, Carrer Castillejos, Avinguda Meridiana (Teatre Nacional), Carrer Almogàvers, Passeig Lluís Companys (Arc de Triomf), Passeig Picasso, Av. Marqués de l’Argentera, Passeig Colom, Portal de la Pau (the Columbus monument), Paral·lel, Ronda Sant Pau, Gran Via, Plaça Universitat, the streets of Aragó, Balmes and Pelai, and then back to Plaça Catalunya.

You can complement the tour experience with atmospheric music, using the playlist of Christmas songs created especially for the occasion on TMB’s Spotify profile.

As on all public transport, the Barcelona Christmas Tour is governed by hygiene and contagion-prevention regulations to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Wearing a face mask is therefore obligatory while on board the bus.

The Barcelona Christmas Tour has once again shown how popular it is. A week after the available places were put on sale, over half the tickets have already been sold.
