Entry to Parc Güell by online ticket only
The measure will make entry to the park easier through scheduled time slots and limit visitor numbers.
Under Barcelona City Council’s Massive Attraction Management Plan (EGA), tickets for Parc Güell will only be available online from 1 July.
As a step towards a more sustainable model of travel and tourism that will have a positive environmental impact, Barcelona’s Parc Güell will sell tickets online only from 1 July.
The measure will make entry to the park easier through scheduled time slots and limit visitor numbers. It will decrease disruption to the day-to-day activities of local residents and schools and mitigate the impact of tourism on the local area.
This action is part of Barcelona City Council’s Massive Attraction Management Plan (EGA). Barcelona de Servicios Municipales, which manages the park, reduced the annual maximum capacity of the park from an estimated nine million visitors to the current 4.5 million in 2020.
Communication Campaign
There is an ongoing publicity campaign to ensure that visitors to Barcelona are aware of the new access arrangement at strategic locations in Barcelona, such as the public transport network, Barcelona Airport terminals and a number of hotels in the city.
Parc Güell has for several years encouraged advance online ticket sales through its website and provides real-time ticket availability updates through official channels and arrangements with entities such as TMB (Barcelona Metropolitan Transport), the Barcelona Tourism Consortium, and the Barcelona Hotels Guild.
