Barcelona Activa presents free informational sessions for the Socioeconomic Development Grants Programme “We Boost What You Do”.

Barcelona Activa, the economic development agency of the Catalan capital, is working on the 2024 call for proposals for the Socioeconomic Development Grants Programme “We Boost What You Do”. It is expected that the guidelines and call will be published during the second half of July in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona (BOPV) and also on the Barcelona Activa website. Anyone interested in applying for these grants can submit their applications from early September to mid-October 2024 or until the budget is exhausted.

To inform about the updates of the call, the eligibility requirements for the grants, and the application process, Barcelona Activa is organising free informational sessions. These sessions last for two hours and are conducted in Catalan via virtual format. There are still openings for 11 July from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 22 July from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Categories and Updates of the Current Call

The 2024 edition of the grants programme still contains six categories: Shutters Up (Opening Ground Floor Premises), Socioeconomic Innovation and Social and Solidarity Economy in strategic sectors and with a territorial focus, Fostering Quality employment in the territory, Responsible and Sustainable Tourism, Sustainable Food and Responsible Consumption, and Last Mile Urban Freight Distribution Centres.

New features include allowing applicants in each category to choose from a range of actions. Changes have also been made to the application form to streamline the submission process. Grant approval will be contingent upon meeting the required criteria for both individual and corporate applicants, the actions to be funded, and on the availability of funds.
