At the beginning of September, jazz takes over the Sant Andreu neighbourhood. The Fabra and Coats: Fábrica de Creació is once again the setting for the Jazzing Festival, in a very special edition: the 10th in its history. The musician Joan Chamorro, director of the event, is proud to have reached this milestone. It is ‘another dream come true,’ he says. He explains that what drives him and his team to organise the festival is a desire to ‘create movement, to talk about this wonderful music, for younger people to access it. Jazz is not music only for adults; it is not music only for grown-ups. It’s popular music, with many variants, colours, nuances.’
The 10th edition takes place on the 1, 2, and 3 September. There will be six concerts each day and that the Jazz Education Stage take place once again. This stage serves as a meeting point for young people and professionals who love jazz, where Chamorro demonstrates the methodology and work philosophy of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band. This year, the Jazz Education Stage will have as guests Joel Frahm, Scott Hamilton, Gerry Lopez and Alba Pujals.
