Until 27th October, 35 shops in the Gothic Quarter will showcase artwork thanks to the third edition of Aparadors artístics. The project aims to promote the neighbourhood as a commercial and artistic centre in Ciutat Vella. It also encourages dialogue between commercial spaces and the public while displaying works by prestigious artists outside conventional circuits, thus strengthening the ties between commerce and culture.
This initiative is organised by Barna Centro, which brings together merchants from 21 associations in the city centre, the Federation of Merchants of the Gothic Quarter, and the cultural journal Hansel and Gretel. It also receives support from the Barcelona City Council and the Economic Promotion Department, with funding sourced from the IEET.
Aparadors artístics has expanded since its first edition, growing from 20 participating shops last year to 35 today. The project is part of the cultural activities and economic promotion programme of the City Council.
