From now on, the castle reopen in the city after the temporary closure due to the Covid-19 health crisis.
With a new schedule and special price (50% reduction on the general admission) we welcome you again and we do so with all the measures and health guarantees to be able to enjoy the castle safely and satisfactorily.

Montjuïc Castle begins its Summer timetable on March 1st with the following opening hours: from Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. This timetable will be valid until November 1st.

The Montjuïc cable car will be closed for 3 weeks from 5 February to 25.

Summer timetable at the Castle

Open day at the Castle, on February 10th
Next Sunday, February 10th, the Castle is going to hold an open day, on the occasion of Santa Eulàlia’s festivities.
Open Day on 24th setember. The Merce Festival
Montjuïc Castle is going to hold an open day to celebrate the Mercè Festival on 24th September. Entrance to the castle premises will be free of charge all day. The guided tour will be available to discover spaces that are usually closed to the public: the dungeons, the watchtower and the cistern (price of the guided tour: € 5)
Open Day on Friday 18th May. International Museum Day
Montjuïc Castle will hold an open day to celebrate the International Museum Day. Entrance to the castle premises will be free of charge all day. People visiting the castle that day will have access to the Montjuïc Visitor Centre as well as to the temporary exhibitions "Lost Memory" and “The pedagogical revolution of Ferrer i Guàrdia”.
WE OPEN THE DUNGEONS OF THE CASTLE
Next Thursday, March 15th, the dungeons of the Castle are going to be opened to the public again. The restoration carried out at the site has revealed hundreds of graffiti made by the prisoners who have stayed at the dungeons over the years. Calendars, drawings, proclamations and all kinds of writings have come to light and will be on show when visiting this area.
The dungeons can only be accessed with a guided tour, available at 11am from Monday to Sunday and also at 4pm on weekends and holidays at a price of €5 (price of the guided tour, entry not included).
CLOSURE OF THE CASTLE FROM 3:00 PM DUE TO THE GENERAL STRIKE OF 08/03/2018
The Castle of Montjuïc will close its doors after 3pm due to the general strike. On 09/03/2018 the Castle will reopen at its usual time.
The Castle presents to the media the new reception area and the graffiti from the dungeons
On February 27, the Castle received the visit of the media, guided by the Memory Program Commissioner, the Director of History, Memory and Heritage and two archaeologists. The media visited the new reception area of the castle and discovered the graffiti from the dungeons. During the visit was announced that the dungeons will be opened to the public only with guided tours, starting from March 15th.
Spring / summer timetable at the Castle
Montjuïc Castle begins its spring / summer timetable on March 1st with the following opening hours: from Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
This timetable will be valid until November 1st. Ticket prices will not vary and the entrance to the Castle will continue to be free every first Sunday of the month, and on Sunday afternoons from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m
Monday 12th February - Open day at the Castle, Santa Eulàlia’s Day
To celebrate Santa Eulàlia’s Day, patroness of Barcelona, the Castle will be holding an open day. The entrance to the site will be free of charge all day. People attending the Castle will be able to visit the Visitor Center of Montjuïc, the temporary exhibition "Nazis and fascists, the symbolic occupation of the city 1939-1945" "and the artistic intervention" WELCOME "by Ciprian Homorodean.
Nazis and fascists, the symbolic occupation of Barcelona (1939-1945)
On Monday 20 November, it will be the opening of the exhibition "Nazis and fascists, the symbolic occupation of Barcelona (1939-1945)”. The exhibition is a harsh, graphic chronicle that makes no concessions to an ill-hidden past. After the fall of Barcelona into the hands of the Francoist troops, the new regime mirrored Hitler's Germany and Mussolini's Italy in order to eradicate any trace of the Red, Republican and Catalanist past of the city.
