The Barcelona Districte Cultural programme becomes an annual initiative, bringing culture and debate into the neighbourhoods with a programme divided into four sections. In all, the programme offers 380 free activities in performing arts, visual arts, audiovisuals and thought, held throughout the year and able to be enjoyed around 47 city facilities.
The new edition of Barcelona Districte Cultural adopts a new focus, doubling its programme in four main sections: stage, temporary, screen and argumentation. Each section includes a set of specialist shows and activities (performing arts, travelling contemporary art projects, film and lectures and talks, respectively) for people to enjoy around 47 facilities, including community centres, auditoriums and cultural venues.
There will also be specific sessions for schools for some activities such as talks and debates.
More cultural options in the neighbourhoods
This year, the Stage cycle brings together all the shows that made up the full programme in previous editions of Barcelona Districte Cultural, with 230 open-access functions around 34 stages in the city, including theatre, dance, live music and family shows. The cycle will be offered from 9 October to 21 December.
For its part, the Screen cycle brings together film screenings, with round tables and presentations inviting participation and debate. The programme includes films such as As bestas, Sala de profesores and Robot Dreams, plus Petit Cine Club sessions for children.
The Temporary cycle includes exhibition at eight community centres by artists such as Miquel Garcia, Núria Nia, Mònica Roselló and Jordi Guillaumet, Fabrizio Contarino and the Col·lectiu Hamaca.
Argumentation, the programme by the Barcelona Community Centre Network devoted to thought, consists of eleven unique talks in 24 different sessions around six community centres, featuring thinkers, professors, journalists and activists such as Aina Tarabini, Miquel Missé, Jordi Armadans and Josep Maria Ganyet.
