District councillors get back in touch with local residents

28/04/2020 - 14:52

Officials will be making real-time online appearances and answering questions from the public.

Online meetings are to be held with the highest regional officials taking part in real time and answering questions published on the Decidim Barcelona participatory website.

These sessions will be taking over, as of Thursday, 30 April, and until the end of May, from the public hearings and neighbourhood councils suspended under restrictions in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. As in the face-to-face events, these new meetings, called “The Councillor replies “, local residents will be able to raise subjects, questions and issues.

The platform facilitating all these interactions is the Decidim Barcelona website, where any registered user can introduce questions and scrutinise those already published 48 hours before the appearance, which will be broadcast in real time. That same website will also feature written answers to all the questions that could not be answered during the 90-minute appearance.

Apart from the Sant Gervasi, Eixample and Nou Barris sessions, whose dates are yet to be determined, the appearances calendar is as follows:

  • 30 April, at 6 pm: Jordi Rabassa, the Ciutat Vella Councillor
  • 7 May: Eloi Badia, the Gràcia Councillor
  • 13 May: Marc Serra, the Sants-Montjuïc Councillor
  • 14 May: Rosa Alarcón, the Horta-Guinardó Councillor
